Hey thanks a lot Dragona....I think that's pretty much perfect.....It makes total sense now.
Thank you very much for your help...
...and to Gernt and IUS too...
Mil gracias. Cuando intento traducir un mensaje con mucha jerga, es con un poco miedo. Es siquiera posible decir algo que es el opuesto del original. Tengo que esperar alguien que sabe va a tener piedad y ayudarme. Pensaba el autor tendría que ser un hombre.
Thank you. When I try to translate a message with a lot of slang, it’s with a bit of fear. It’s even possible to say something that means the opposite of the original. I have to hope someone who knows will have pity and rescue me. I thought the author had to be a man.
You're welcome Dixie. Glad I was able to help!Originally Posted by gernt
Gernt, yes, translating something with slang in it is hard, especially if you don't know the country of origin. Some things I've translated I've guessed the counry because of the words used. If this translation hadn't had the word Venezuela in it, I probably would have translated it the same, this just gave me the affirmation to the slang. Still, even I get stuck sometimes! A good way to learn different spanish words and their usage is by watching spanish soap operas!
