    ¿Qué significa "banalidades representativas" en esta frase?

    "Partenezco a una rama de la burguesía esforzada y frugal, poco dada a banalidades representativas".

    No estoy seguro. Tal vez puede ser:

    I belong to a branch of the confidant and frugal bourgeoisie who are not very inclined to characteristic trivialities. - or maybe better would be - who are not given over to putting on airs.

    Con mucho gusto. Creo que es muy similar en español: se da aires de grandeza, por ejemplo.

    Supongo estoy pensando en la burguesía que llamemos “nouveau riche” que compran cosas ostentosas para demostrar tienen dinero. Estas cosas (o grandes fiestas) sí serían "banalidades representativas”. Pero la gente del escritor es más sencilla.
