Your translation is good enough; my version perhaps flows "more naturally."

    My translation

You should have standard knowledge of the utility and of SQL in order to complete the following steps.

    (a) I wouldn't spell out what SQL means. Presumably I am translating from Spanish to an English-speaking, knowledgeable user market.

    (b) I use "utility" instead of "tool" because "utility" restricts the scope of the word to the world of software.

    (c) Spanish tends to be verbose. "Para efectuar los pasos que a continuación se detallan" really means "To do what follows."
