i am trying to find out which of these words would be a better fit as i try and tell my lover that he is my addiction.
adicció, vicio, afición

Well, technically either adicción or vicio. But vicio has a negative connotation, so I'd go for adicción which has a slightly milder connotation, but it's still appropriate for love.
