Welcome!
Are you translating at the moment? Which are your fields of expertise? Have you been a translator for many years?
Welcome cesarm! What languages do you speak?
I'm sure you're going to find a lot of interesting things here, and the community is great!
Thanks guys!
I actually just joined TT as a Project Manager, but I've worked as a translator/interpreter before, mostly for the Buenos Aires Film Festival (BAFICI), where I got to do a variety of language related things like translating and proofreading subtitles for foreign film screenings, or moderating film debates and Q&A sessions with guest Directors and Producers from abroad.
I speak English (cause I was born in the States), Spanish (because my whole family is from Argentina and I lived here for a couple of years), and Portuguese (because I went to high school in Brazil), so I’d be glad to help with any of those as far as I can.
Welcome cesarm! What brought you to the forum?

Wow, it must be cool to speak many languages and to know different cultures. In what country did you study translation?
It is indeed very cool to get to know so many different cultures as you are growing up.
In my case, my dad was a diplomat (still is actually), which is why we all got to travel a lot, moving form country to country every couple of years.
As for my studies, I am actually a Film Director.
The thing is I got my Proficiency Diploma from Cambridge quite early, which allowed me to teach, first at the American Chamber of Commerce in Brazil, (which was my first job ever) and later at the Berlitz institute here in Buenos Aires, where I also got to teach some English and Spanish for a while.
As for my Portuguese, I got the chance to learn it at school first, while still living in Brazil, and once I got back to Argentina I took the CELPE BRAS upper level exams so I could have a diploma that would allow my to work with that languange as well.
Wow! That's very impressive! Have you directed any films I might have heard of?
haha, no. Just a few minor short films that got into a couple of film festivals, but nothing fancy.
Can't say it wasn't fun though.
