Hi everyone,
I am new to the translating world, and the more I read, the more confused I am. Where do I begin? What are CATs? What are TMs? Do I need any of those? What is software localization?
Thanks!

Hi mlhamburg, CAT stands for Computer Assisted Translation (a software like TRADOS, WORDFATS ETC. ) y TMs means Translation Memory.Originally Posted by mlhamburg
I don´t have any but I know they are expenseive and also help save lots of time in translations work by building a database that the computer will bring to you every time you have to translate pieces of work that resemble others you have done in the past
If you wish to work for an agency you might have no choice but to get one.
This is only a preliminary information - Hope it helps

Truly, my dear young friends, you are a chosen generation. I hope you will never forget it.

Hola Hebe,
Thanks for your answer! Another question, where or how do I begin getting requests for translations?
Thanks!
