    Default How to get started?

Just found out about this forum and am dying for some advice about how to get started in Spanish to English translation. I've been doing some reseach into on line courses but would like some recommendations. Has anyone out there done the course offered by the Irish company WSL? Does it give good prep. for the IoL Diploma exam?

    Hi Nicolas

Actually, the company I was referring to is Words Language Services based in Dublin. The course looks pretty good but it would be nice to know of someone who has done it and then gone on to do the IoL Diploma.

    Thanks

    Hi analaura

No,I haven't done any professional translation before. I've been in Spain for 15 years and have been teaching English for 9 years but now I want a career change and want some formal training. Any advice?

    Thanks

Hi Denise, nice to meet you.
How about college/university? I guess you would get good training there.

Yeah, I agree. College or university is the most comprehensive option...
