I'm a science fiction novelist and I've set my story in the far future, with my heroine part of a Latino Merchanting community. I've been using some Spanish phrases and am now into the nitty gritty editing part with my publisher. Obviously I'm concerned to ensure that my Spanish is correct. I learnt Spanish a VERY long time ago & recently visited Spain, but would like a bit of feedback.
I'm not wanting screeds of Spanish phrases looked at - and in return as a writing tutor and ex-teacher, if anyone is wanting to knock around any English grammar issues, I'd happily return the favour...
The first issue I've got is talking about the shifts on the ship Estrella Fugaz. Which is correct for the translation of 'first shift'?
Is it 'uno shift' 'primo shift' 'shift uno' or 'shift primo' OR something else??? As you can see, I've gotten myself a bit entangled over this one... I'd very much appreciate any help!
