Greetings mortals
I have not browsed thir forum at all, I just really need help translating a cv :)
anyways, I thought it would be polite to say hi and introduce myself before going straight to the help sections of this forum....
Name's Melisa, i'm 22 years old, I live in Argentina with my parents, my sis, a dog and a cat. Im currently in my fourth year of biotechnology, im definitely not an expert in english (or else i wouldn't be joining you guys) but I did study for 12 years and took my fce and cae (a long time ago...). I started dating an american dude about a year ago and, after 7 months apart, he came back...and now he's looking for a job and im struggling with the translation of the cv :/
well, hope this is a cool place to hang out....

Re: Greetings mortals
Hi Yerlem,
Well... might you can find out why nobody replied to you if you reread your first post. It did not sound very polite.
The second thing is this a forum made for translators and by translators. The idea of someone who writes with the only intention of having a free professional translation is not well received naturally.
The idea sounds even less atractive when you explain that the translation is for a guy you used to date. Too much patience and simpathy is needed to be willing to translate for this purpose.
A piece of advice...
1-do not join a forum saying actually you dont like it or you dont care about its main topic (in this case translation).
2-do not drag yourself after a guy so pathetically that you offer to do something even when you can't.
3-be more polite.
4-be patient.
Good luck in your life!

Re: Greetings mortals
Well, obviously sarcasm is not a part of your vocabulary.... I made the intro thread to be polite in the first place, but i do have a bit of sarcasm in me, and it may have sounded rude to some. As i clarified im not a translator, but i do speak english fluently and the kind of help i needed was very specific ( and needed asap, therefore i didnt actually browse the place before asking for help). I didnt really feel like paying a professional translator to translate 3or 4 words for me (if you check the thread i made you'll see it really wasnt a lot) ,so i thought of joining this place for help. Perhaps the word solidarity is not in your vocabulary either...thankfully some of the other less sensitive members, who apparently were not offended by me, gave me some ideas.
Im still gonna browse this place since i enjoy learning, EVEN if i dont have a piece of paper that says im a professional translator.
Much love, and you might wanna remove that huge stick you have up your ass, it makes you come up a bit bitchy
Ps. My bf and i are still together, we never broke up, we just had a long distance relationship for 7 months

Re: Greetings mortals
girls, easy, there's no need, y disculpen por el regaño.
anafe, did you read your words? I mean, really, did you? Love, don't hate, please, appreciate.
yerlem, no hay necesidad de verdad, las personas no cambian por mucho que les digas, y menos en un forum, no se habla así muchacha. By the way, my marriage started as a long distance relationship, and is now better than ever, good luck :)

Re: Greetings mortals
Ha, i know, i know, that was a bit too much, i was just really astonished someone would treat me like that on this very formal and professional forum, and wanted to make it clear i was gonna stand my ground...
Thanks for the good luck, everythings going great so far :) hopefully it'll end up like yours
