Quería volver al viejo confiable hilo de chistes, por que a veces el ejercicio de traducción requiere pensar en que chistes son traducibles.
I wanted to return to the old-faithful jokes thread, because sometimes the translating exercise requires to contemplate what jokes are translatable.
Entonces encuentro que la mayoría de los chistes para niños contienen premisas simples y remates ingeniosos.
So I found out that most of the jokes for children have simple set-ups and witty punch-lines.
Los mejores ejemplos son los de la tira cómica Mexicana "El Chavo del 8", realizada por Chespirito y compañia en los 70.
The best examples are the ones from the Mexican show "El Chavo", done by Chespirito & Co. in the 70's.

Este chiste por ejemplo puede tranquilamente traducirse a casi cualquier idioma.
Es básicamente una burla/comentario, más que un chiste/cuento de Preparación [Set-Up] y Remate [Punch-line]
Lo traduciría a lo "The Ney Yorker" como:
"Pretty hot outside Huh" "Oh, shut up!"Debo la traduccion en ingles.

–Mira, lo siento mucho, pero mi gato se ha caído por la terraza, justo encima de tu perro, y lo ha matado al instante…
