    Default How to Get Started in Memsource

    Here, just the first steps to Get Started in Memsource.
    If any of you has any doubt, plz, add it to this thread so that we can explain you better and we can walk you through the first steps of this useful tool

    1) Download the Editor program from Download Memsource Editor | Memsource - Translation Cloud, Translation Memory Server, Terminology, Machine Translation, CAT Tools
    2) Once assigned a task in Memsource:
    a) Go to https://cloud1.memsource.com;
    b) Enter your username and password;
    c) Look for your assigned project and task (translation, post-editing, editing…); they will appear as New; change the status to "Accepted by linguist" and download the bilingual .MXLIFF file;
    d) As you already have the software installed, double click the file and it will open in MemSource’s Editor;
    e) Before starting your work for the first time, make sure you enter the login info in File > Preferences > Log in (Leave the default configuration under the CAT and Network tabs.);

    Filling in your Log In data will allow you to work online, you´ll be able to see the green boxes on the bottom, right-hand corner, to make sure you are saving your translation to the cloud and also that you’re having access to TM, TB and MT. If the data is not correct or you don’t have an Internet connection, the boxes will go red.

    f) You start translating, segment by segment, and once you are done with the target segment, and you are sure about your translation/edit choice, you “Confirm” the segment by hitting Control+Enter or the "Confirm Segment" green botton at the top of the bar . Once finished, go to Document > Upload to Server, and this way all you´ve done will be uploaded to the server. (Make sure you are logged in). You´ll see how your translation changes now to 100% now on the cloud.

    Then change the status to “Completed.”

    This way, the PM will be able to pick up your file from the cloud later.
