How to use Microsoft Word spell check in any file format
Memsource has been created to work directly on the Editor, and specially online.
However, the cat tool provides an alternative for those translators who still haven´t downloaded the program and then, you can export the same content, into a bilingual MS Word file.
The huge disadvantage about working this way, is that you don´t have access to the TM or the TB (Translation Memory or Termbase, respectively).
What we did find very useful about this bilingual doc, is that once you have done your translation in the Editor, you can download this bilingual doc, to run the spellcheck here in the doc, as simply as you do it when you work on any MS Word file.
You don´t even have to hide the source language, the spellcheck will only take the target column, and just will ignore the source column:

Once you have corrected any typo or any other mistake, you can import the doc back into Memsource, to update the file in the cloud, and then you might have to confirm some segments again.
I hope my explanation has been clear enough. If not... just ask!!

Hi, analaura:
This is a very useful feature for translators!
In addition, if you are working with joint files, you can run the spell check through a set of docs. This may be easier and more useful than running the spell check in every completed file of a project made up of several MS Word files. It is also helpful when you cannot download the completed version of a document because it is a PDF file and need to check a text's spelling and grammar.

Hi, yes, that´s right.
Doing Join Files lets you run the spellcheck all at once.
really useful.
Can you see the image? or do I have to upload it again?

I know someone may jump back and tell you: Go download the preview and run the spell checker on that final target file!
However, let me give you an upside of what you describe above: No need to have other software like InDesign for a preview and to run the spell checker! You simply do it on an MS Word version, and you still have the chance to make the fixes needed before further action with regard to reformatting. That's awesome! :D

Good point Gentle. It´s good to make that clear as well. Because you might need to do something urgent in another computer and this way, there´s nothing to prevent you from doing it, since you can download memsource in a few seconds, and run the spell check in the MS Word. Thank you for your observation!
