I work in the DTP area. When I receive Indesign files from Memsource all fonts change to Arial. In addition to the DTP work, we have to reset all fonts like the original files.
Why is this happening?
thanks!

Does anybody know something about this?
I see it's an old thread, but with no replies. I've been experiencing the same issue, but this time in MS Word. An Arial font in the source is changed into Calibri in the target. I'm surfing the web to see if there's any info about this.
Back in town!
I came across a new project with a similar issue. This time, a Franklyn font type replaced my source Calibri one. Sick and tired of working so much on DTP, I took the bull by the horns and started trying out different things. First off, I realized I had uploaded the MS Word file checking the feature to decrease the number of tags. I tried unchecking it. I also instructed MemSource to deliver the target file in Calibri (ie., preserving the source font). In the end, I managed to solve the problem, which saved lots of time and money in reformatting.
And here's where it all started! This is the message I got back from MemSource's Support Team.
I asked them specifically if that could be the problem after not finding that much at the Wiki. There it only stated: feature used "...to ignore smaller formatting differences, for example in scanned documents."
Their response was: "Yes, this option could lead to a font change. It should only be used if a file is imported with tons of tags, for example tags following each letter in a sentence, which is what may happen with scanned documents."
Hi!
I never use that feature. What I do in these cases is to run the macros in Office to fix the document before uploading it to Memsource.
Have you tried it? It generally works!
That's exactly what I do as well! I use the Code Zapper macros with a whole bunch of setting that let you fix tags, format and else so that you can easily us that as the input in your CAT tool. Nonetheless, I still remember a couple of times when that was not enough. In those few cases I turned on the MemSource feature and it worked (although I do not remember caring about the target font...).
