Excel files .xlsb in Memsource
Hi,
I tried to upload a .xlsb Excel file to a project in memsource and apparently this extension is not supported by the CATTool. I had it converted to xlsx and it went up to the cloud without any problem. Do you know what is the difference between those two Excel extensions? And why there's one that's supported by memsource, and not the other one?

Hi Nabyl.
Here´s what I´ve found browsing in the internet, I hope you'll find it usefull:
A file with the XLSB file extension is an Excel Binary Workbook file. They store information in binary format instead of XML like with most other Excel files (like XLSX). Since XLSB files are binary, they can be read from and written to much faster, making them extremely useful for very large spreadsheets.

Thanks santiagop for the definition. I understand now that the difference comes from the encoding. That's probably why it's not supported by memsource.

Yes, I think you NEED to handle files that store information in XML since all the CAT tools work with this meta-language
