Thread: Tropa de Elite

Hola gente -

I have to admit, and I am not proud of this, that I have only seen two Brazilian movies in my life, City of God and Carandirum, and I loved them both. Now I am hearing a lot about "Tropa de Elite" that is similar to the other two in the sense that it is based on a true story and is a gritty portrayal of some of the uglier sides of Brazilian life. Has anyone seen it yet? I am planning on it this weekend, but I don't quite have the patience to find out for myself...

I haven't seen it yet. I saw City of God and Carandirum and I agree with you, both are very good.
In case you see Tropa de Elite, tell me how did it go....

I am sure I will be back here on Monday telling you all I can about it. Do you have other Brazilian movies, not necessarily of the same genre, to recommend?
