    Question Open source, better?

    Hi everyone!

    I've read in many places, not only in this forum, that open source applications are better.
    But what is open source and why are they better? I know the mail application Thunderbird is open source, but I know a couple of co workers who tried it and got a headache...

    All input welcome!
