Default Unwanted characters in imported TM

Many of us import .txt files to increase the number of segments in a TM.

But then we discover that there are unwanted characters and they show up where special characters should appear (ñ, á, é, ?, ", etc).

The reason is that the .txt was saved in a different charactermap (ascii, UTF, etc). So in order to avoid this, you will have to open the .txt file in a text editor to check if you are able to see it fine, if not then you will have to change the file encoding until you can properly browse those characters....

    God help you!

That happened to me a couple of times!
I didn´t get the part where you say "change the file enconding..."
    How do I do that?

    Thanks!

It depends on the text editor you use. Usually you can select the encoding in the "Save as" dialog box or under the menu Edit.
