Thread: too large files and Trados

Some days ago I had to process a 40-mega file in Tag Editor and Trados wouldn't process it because the size was too large. It is an In Design file. Have you ever had this problem? How did you work it out?

You mean an INX file from an InDesign file?

I tried to open the inx file with tag editor and I got that error message.

Hi, I had the same problem. We had to actually open the INX in Indesign and make three parts out of it.
I do not know if Trados has resolved this issue with larger files in their 2009 version but it's definitely something they need to work on, if they haven't.

I had to do that too, but it's takes too long and for some reason, the smaller parts increase in size too. I hope we can find a faster solution.
