Default Differences between Farsi and Dari?

Are they different dialects? Is it just a mater of speech?

Still not sure what's the difference here, if there's one at all :/

Dari is an Afgan variant of the Persian that is spoken in Iran. Check out the explanations and classifications in https://www.ethnologue.com/language/prs

Farsi is spoken in Iran. Dari is spoken in Afghanistan, along with the Pashto.
While Dari and Farsi are two accents of the same language, Pashto is a different language.
For instance, Dari uses more English borrowed words than Farsi (which uses more French borrowed words)
Dari and Farsi speaking people can understand each other. On the other hand, Pashto is completely different.

So, basically, Dari and Farsi are closely related (as in they have the same roots?) and they have dialectic variants whereas Pashto is a completely different language, not connected to either of them, right?

Exactly. Pashto is just another language that is spoken in Afghanistan. They come from different families.

    Yo got it!
So if you are having a hard time getting a Dari translator, you can always try to ask a Farsi speaker (and vice-versa).

All I know is that they both are written from right to left... Looks so hard to me.
