Thread: Study Chinese

I am a little of bored of letting people translate stuff for me..I am thinking of study Chinese for myself..
Do you guys have any good recommendations for a fresh new learner..

I perfectly know 3 languages, but Chinese is something different.
So, somebody have any recommendations?

Freaky speaking, it is still fine to learn chinese speaking but chinese writing definitely takes you long time to learn
if you really want to learn chinese, i suggest you hire a chinese tutor

I think children's books and cartoons in Chinese are good choice for beginners.
I'm a native Chinese speaker and I have improved my English significantly through watching TV.
