Thread: What is Wordpress ?

Hi,

Does anybody know what it involves to have a website made in "CMS/Wordpress" ?
I am trying to get the source files from a website made in Wordpress, but apparently downloading (ctrl+S) the HTML is not the right way...

Also, is the owner the only person able to download these source files from Wordpress (username, password, etc...)?

I think there are programs for that. And I think that some CAT tools are integrated with Wordpress or are compatible. I've never tried it though.

I thought Wordpress was a program which "generates" the webpage. Even though the website is using Wordpress, the extension is still HTML...or am I wrong?

If you're going to download that this way, only download in html, Wordpress, it's just a tool to create modern web pages, blogs... it handles internal plugins to post something, but if you want to
download all files from the user side it's not possible

Thanks for your help ivanm. Let me get this straight....So only the "owner" of the website can properly download the source HTML files?
If yes, what are the differences between the HTML version downloaded by the owner, and the one downloaded by the user (ctrl+s in Chrome)?

I haven't checked and I am not sure, but it seems that there was some compatibility between Wordpress and one CAT. It would allow users to easily translate the content and avoid all the complications of handling and uploading it.
