Follow proofreading tips like running the spell checker, checking for subject-verb agreement, looking at the punctuation and confirming that the format is correct.

Making sure text fits in the right text boxes is another good tip. Even though proofreading focuses on the target material I always give translators the source files, so that they can take a look as well.

I've noticed that what works best for me when it comes to proof reading is when it is read out-loud It often happens that when reading out-loud you are able to catch sentences, phrases, or words that are incorrect and do not correspond to the sentence.

After checking all the points, do not forget to get an expert to proofread it for you. You will be amazed at the mistakes you've missed. A second person will also be in a better position to evaluate whether the sentences make sense or not.
