Hi Mariaq,
Quark does support Hindi language, but there is a difference between MAC and PC. I have a quark file in Hindi, and when opened in MAC, the words get separated by a an unnecessary space. In PC they look fine. I wonder why this is.
Esta pregunta esta relacionada con otra que encontre mas adelante, confirmame la version de Quark que tenes y el tipo de fuente. Saludos
Quark & InDesign supports Hindi. They y need the proper fonts.
Sds,
Hi juanpr,
I have a question about this. What are the right Hindi fonts for MAC. I had a problem with a Hindi Quark in MAC (unnecessary spacing between words) and I think maybe we were using the wrong fonts. Do you know where I can find out about Hindi fonts for MAC?
Thanks!
There is no native support in Quark or InDesign for Indian Languages with Unicode Fonts. However there are some third party plug-ins which you could use for this support.
You could try IndicPlus InDesign Plug-in by a Company "MetaDesign Solutions". With the help of the plugin you would get support for almost all Asian Languages including Hindi.
There is also a trial version available...worth giving a try - IndicPlus - Indesign Plugin | MetaDesign Solutions
