Do you know how to convert an indesign file fron CC 2014 to CS6?

You have to export the file as Indesign Markup Language (idml extension). This file is not only supported by Memsource. You can open it with previous versions of Indesign

Indeed, I tried it and it works. Even the Idml file was generated from an indd file in CC 2014 (for instance) you can open the idml in CS6, and do Save as >Indd. This way, it saves the indd in CS6!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can also open a Idml file generated in CC2015 directly in CS6. So, you are downgrading 2 versions in just one step

Yes but you always need a Idml file first. You can't save as from an upgrade file and downgrade in the same project.

What do you mean by "an upgrade file", like .indd? Is such format not compatible with older (or newer) versions?

Yes, indd file need to be open by same or older versions .. idml can be open easily.

you CAN'T open a Indesign 2014 file in CS6
you CAN open a CS6 file in Indesign 2014
you CAN open a idml file generated in Indesign 2014 in CS6
you CAN open a idml file generated in CS6 in Indesign 2014
