    Default carta documento

    Hola chicos/as

OF ACKNOWLEDGMENT" or "REGISTERED LETTER"

    Gracias

    Diego

    Hola diegonel:

In the U.S we have many private delivery services (often called couriers) which deliver important legal documents.

We also have the services provided by the United States Postal Service (USPS) which include Certified Mail and Registered Mail (Letter). Both provide proof of being sent/delivered; however Certified Mail does not provide a guarantee of receipt. Registered Mail has more secure tracking and must be signed for by the recipient, thereby, guaranteeing that it was received. If the document is sent via USPS then I believe you are correct in thinking that the description of a Carta Documento more aptly fits the description of Registered Mail.

Vicente, gracias por tu contribución, como siempre. Mi pregunta es: Does a REGISTERED LETTER/MAIL bear the meaning that someone is being informed of a claim?

diegonel, if a claim is sent by registered letter and is signed for by the intended recipient then it is proof that the person has been informed BUT while a registered letter may contain a notice of a claim it is not in itself, a form of claim. It just guarantees that a claim, if contained in the letter, has been delivered to the intended person.

A registered letter may contain many types of documents; business, legal, personal, governmental.
