Thread: a little help

My husband and I have been trying to open a bank account here in Michigan, with just his name on it. He's in Mexico. I've found a spanish and english power of attorney, now this is were we get confused. If the power of attorney is filled out and stamped by the notary in Mexico, we beleive it will have to be in spanish. Then when the power of attorney arrives in Michigan it will be in Spanish and not English. Now what should we do? Any suggestions are welcome and needed. Thank you, lisa and george.

These types of documents normally need to be translated in the country of origin and the translation has to be certified and stamped, in this case by the notary public. These notaries can usually refer you to a certified translator. I know for a fact that's how it is done in Brazil and Chile, so it is probably the same in Mexico.
