Medical sales representatives, or reps as they often called, are a key link between pharmaceutical companies and medical and healthcare professionals. They work strategically to increase the awareness and use of a company's pharmaceutical and medical products in settings such as general practices, primary care trusts and hospitals.
Based in a specific geographical location, and usually specialising in a particular product or medical area, they try to ensure that formularies contain their product. They may also make presentations and organise group events for healthcare professionals, as well as working with contacts on a one-to-one basis.

In any setting, the process of selling involves: contacting potential customers; identifying their needs; persuading them that your products or services, rather than those of your competitors, can best satisfy those needs; closing the sale by agreeing the terms and conditions; and providing an after-sales service. Medical sales representatives do all of this and more.

Thanks Mem! I actually found "sales representatives" in one of Novarti´s PRs but wasn't sure about the existence of a more appropriate term.

I have been looking for the exact term for two days! I know my Google skills are lame. Anyway thanks for posting this answer.

La traducción de "Visitador médico" que yo he tenido a la fecha(no digo que no haya otras acepciones) es "Pharmaceutical salesman".

¡Gracias a todos! Con respecto a "caregivers", lo tomo mas como "cuidadores", gente que no es enfermera/o profesional pero que se dedica a la atención de personas con problemas de salud. Igual me voy a visitar el link propuesto

Exactly Gentle, it was the reason of my suggestion; I thought it was people who visit old/sick patients at home... and these "cuidadores" (funny word ) as you call them, some of them are doctors and/or nurses; you can find people with qualifications.

Yo tambien lo pensaba - en inglaterra se llaman "health visitors" porque van a visitar a los ancianos y enfermos en sus casas, pero resulta que aqui se refiere a lo que se conoce en españa como "comerciales", o sea "sales reps".
