    Default morder la plancha

    The sentence:
    Se introduce la plancha en una solución de agua y ácido (ácido nítrico) que al corroer el metal en las zonas donde se ha retirado el barniz agujereará la superficie (morder la plancha), más o menos profundamente según el tiempo que se deje actuar el ácido

    My poor attempt:
    The plate is introduced in a water and acid solution (nitric acid) that when corroding the metal in the zones where the varnish has been withdrawn it will bore the surface (to bite the plate), more or less deeply according to the time that acid has been let act (horrible)

    No creo su traducción es tan malo. En ingles, “introduce” puede querer decir “meter” y es más formal que “put”. En lugar de “let” probablemente vamos a usar “permitted to”, pero se entiende “let”.


    The plate is put into a solution of water and nitric acid such that, where the varnish has been removed, the acid will dissolve or cut the plate more or less deeply according to the time it is allowed to remain in the liquid.

    The plate is sunk into an water and acid solution (nitric acid) so that when it corrodes the metal in the zones where the varnish has been withdrawn, it will bore the surface (to bite the plate), the longer acid is allowed to act, the deeper surface gets bored

    viendolo mejor "zones" deberia ser cambiado por "spots"
