punteado
I'm not talking about music, but engraving. So, the sentence is:
Aquatinta
Técnica empleada en combinación con otras para conseguir tonos planos y texturas diversas como el punteado, al lápiz, la manera nera (negra), mezzotinto o al humo
My attempt:
Technique used in combination with others to obtain flat tones and diverse textures like the punteado (dotting) one, the pencil, the nera way (black), mezzotinto or the smoke

Pero a mí, todo de eso es nuevo. No soy ningún artista. Aprendí mucho buscando las palabras.
I've seen punteado used to mean perforations. I'm just guessing.

Ésta me hacía mucha falta, y además me sirve para arreglar unas cuantas frases que tenía 'durmientes'.

Gracias, pero en lugar de “dots” será mejor usar “pits”. Estos son huequitos.
