I guess that "dress" could be the protection for the device, belt, shaft or any other part which moves.
In Spanish, I'd say "protección" if the translation suits the context.

Hi Jack. thank you for your answer but I think that in this context "dress" is a verb and not a noun. It should be more like "rectifique" or "alinee" in Spanish but I am not sure, that's why I am asking.
A bit more context would help us help you.
I believe to dress means to apply a coating on a surface, and deburr is to smooth sharp edges. So I think verbs would be more suitable too.
Nothing comes to my mind though. Maybe "pulir y lijar"? Doesn't sound right...
