Creo que el texto no esta bien traducido.

Aunque esta luz difundida finalmente también llega a la superficie, no lo hace como si procediese directamente del disco solar, sino de toda la bóveda celeste. Esta radiación es conocida como difusa, en contraposición con la radiación directa, que es aquella que alcanza la superficie manteniendo la línea recta desde el disco solar
