    Default US Government Shutdown

Hi everyone! I am curious to hear your thoughts on the U.S. Government Shutdown. In my opinion the whole thing saddens me. So many people out of work and programs threatened because our elected officials are acting like children throwing tantrums until each get their way. In the words of President Obama, "Knock it off"! We are supposed to be moving forward not backwards. We haven't had a shut down in 17 years. Everyday that goes by the shutdown is hurting our economy and peoples livelihood. Get it together!

I totally agree. I was watching the news the other day and even schools are being affected by the government shutdown, which is depriving the youth of an education. Children are falling behind in their curriculum. The last shutdown lasted 21 days, hopefully this will all come to an end soon. This saddens me to see that even a group of well educated individuals can not come to form of agreement. The shutdown is causing more damage than good.

kvillanueva, you are right. It is starting to affect the schools as well. I am trying to remain optimistic that it will end soon but it doesn't look good. Very sad.
