En Argentina usamos cerrojo o pestillo o incluso pasador. (pasador porque pasa de un lado a otro y traba la puerta, pero si es para Am Lat creo que cerrojo o pestillo estàn bien)

en españa se utiliza mas pestillo
"Pestillo" for a bolt, anything requiring a key is "cerrojo" here in Spain. However, in english there can be locks requiring a key described as using dead bolts, or as "dead locks" because they need to be closed as well as opened with a key.

I'm from Spain and we never use "cerrojo muerto" to refer to a bolt. We use cerrojo o pestillo. So, both are correct.
