Redneck no tiene nada que ver con el significado de Pocho.

Pocho en USA se usa para lo que comentaron al principio, RedNeck es otra cosa que no tiene nada que ver.

Redneck se usa despectivamente para los campesinos blancos del estado de los estados del Sur que serian "rústicos", "brutos", "incultos".

Poco puede tener que ver un campesino blanco del Sur de Estados Unidos con un Chicano que no habla Español .

...and it means different things to different people; however, I disagree with this definition: Redneck = rough, narrow minded, boor = tosco, rudo, estrecho de mente, grosero.

A redneck could be but is not necessarily any of those things. It is true that in this country a redneck is generally considered to be a person of lower-class; a country person, un-educated; un-sophisticated, etc., but not all rednecks fit that description. They can also be intelligent, educated and unpretentious country people with simple tastes who prefer beer over wine; barbeque over chateaubriand; a pickup truck over a sedan; blue jeans over a coat and tie, country living over city life, but might be considered a little tacky in dress, tastes or surroundings by more urbane folk.

This word is like others we have discussed, such as "gringo", that have different signifigance to whomever uses them and, depending on the intent of the speaker, may be a perjorative word or just a descriptive word.

There are many people who are from simple country origins who consider themselves to be rednecks and are proud of it.

Bueno, no sé lo que es un "chicano" pero un "pocho" tampoco es alguien que no habla español.

y yo siempre me refiero al término ·pocho" según como lo usamos en Argentina, el cual puede tener muuuuuchos significados y varía de persona en persona.Un pocho puede ser un pelado que se deja crecer una colita y se come un choripan en la parada del bondi. Una pocha puede ser una gorda que escucha Chayanne mientras barre la vereda en calzas...

ser un pocho es ser ordinario, y los yanquis muchas veces usan el término redneck para cargar a un bruto o a un trabajador inculto..
