Thread: How to use "-ci" and "-là"?

Hi,

Do you know if -ci and -là can be used for words such as "rapport" , "période" or "époque"?
Example: Ce rapport-là , Cette époque-là...
I know this tells us wether the subject is far, or close to us (time or space wise)
However, "rapport-là" still looks weird to me, since it is used a lot when spoken. Maybe it would fit without the "-"...?

Lo veo muy útil cuando estamos hablando de dos informes en un relato (o de dos momentos/periodos).

En este caso, en la redacción se utilizará "ce rapport-ci" para hacer referencia al informe nombrado en último término ("este último informe") y se reservará "ce rapport-là" para hacer referencia al informe nombrado en primer término, es decir, la referencia más alejada en esta redacción ("aquel informe").

I have seen or heard "cette époque-là" even if this sounds weird to you. Maybe "rapport" is more common when you have two precise objects to differentiate as reminder says.

I confirm "cette époque-là" is used by a large amount of people. Si aún no están seguros de como usarlos, siempre pueden hablar de la época, o informe, y seguir con "celui/celle-ci/lá.
Ex:"...concernant le rapport, celui-ci étant ...."

It's not as clear as I wish it was, but I'll keep looking for the official rule. Meanwhile, I'll just stick to that rule.
