I think what the phrase is referring to, is that he hates the fact that she's leaving, but he loves to WATCH her go (i.e., look at her booty).

yeah I think that was the general consensus... It reminds me of a saying like that that I always heard while growing up in the US.

It is difficult to say what exactly is meant by this phrase. Everyone can understand it in their way, interpret it for a particular situation. I don't even know what to say.
