    Default Auto-Translator problems

    I have a lady friend who responded in spanish part of her message. The auto translators give a confusing translation. So I need some help. She is from Mexico if that makes a difference. I have heard that the Castillian Spanish is more formal than Mexican street lanquage. So here goes;
    Es hermoso saber que estas vien. Se te extraña.
    I hope someone can help me with this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Rick

    Hello rd123,

    Auto translators won't always give you an accurate translation (especially if the source text is misspelled).

    Wrong = Es hermoso saber que estas vien. Se te extraña.

    Right = Es hermoso saber que estás bien. Se te extraña.

    It is wonderful to know you are okay. I miss you.

    Regards,

    Xóchitl

    Thank you Xóchitl. I am probably too old to learn this lanquage but it is so beautiful and romantic (especially the music) that I may try. I just hope I don't overdo my welcome on this forum.
    Thanks again,
    Rick

    Auto translator was translated in a word for word basis the reason why it can’t give you an accurate translation especially when you are going to compose a whole sentence. It is still best to ask someone who really know the language.
