Thread: ''Estos no son otros"

¡Hola!

Estoy leyendo un libro de mi estudio (derecho) y no puedo encontrar que significa 'éstos no son otros'. Son cosas diferentes o son cosas igual? La frase es: 'Éstos no son otros, según insiste en señalar una constante jurisprudencia del TC, que la libertad ideológica y la libertad religiosa, respectivamente.'
Así pienso que los dos cosas significan lo mismo, PERO la próxima frase: 'Tal distinción no impide admitir el estrecho vínculo que media entre ambos'. Distinción?!


I'm lost....... It might be the case that I misunderstand the whole sentence?

I hope someone can help me with this!

Can you post the sentence or paragraph just before "Éstos no son otros, ...., que la libertad ideológica y la libertad religiosa" ?

Without seeing the rest of the paragraph...

I have a feeling that what the text is saying is that the author is trying to say is that some people say there is a distinction but he does not believe there is a distinction since freedoms (speech, religion,etc) can be part of the same general subject of freedoms. However, even if there is distinction, there is a great deal of similarities or relationship ("estrecho vinculos") between the two.

Of course this is why we sometimes say that you need a law degree to read the lawyerly stuff. I might totally off base since I do not have a law degree.. . :-)
