hi lili - "Reportate" translates as "Control yourself".

"Ya hay que hacer algo, ?No?" = "Now something must be done, right?"

yes, inasmuch as "Control yourself" and "Behave yourself" are similar
in meaning.

In Mèxico

FAMILIAR OR SOCIAL "reportate" is used to ask someone too stay in touch, similar to saying "Call me or write me at least once a day, once a year, once a month..."

BOSS or WIFE or MOTHER "reportate" is also used in an imperative way for those who owe you something, communication you have been expecting, urgency to clear something up, "I need you to call me" "I need to talk to you" or "We need to talk"

(slang reportate) = put in a little bit more than usual, example "leave a bigger tip" or "put more cheese on the nachos"

translation: STOP LAGGING AND LETS DO (IT) SOMETHING, OR NOT?

sounds a little aggressive but thats what it means.

so reportate in mexico means both...control yourself and stay in touch?

Sorry, I think there is a misunderstanding between reportate and comportate, the later means behave yourself

the Spanish-speaking world, variations in definition/usage often occur.

Hermit is correct, what I posted represents some of the popular usage of those sentences in Mexico.

That's what's great about this site, We can provide different options, considering regional and cultural usage of the language.

For that reason, I usually begin my posts with "In Mèxico we use it this way... or for this purpose..." and so on.
